Creating a hyperlink within the OLS editor and Switching the smiley for a custom graphic of your own.

There is no button in the OLS editor to create a hyperlink, but there is a back door.

Web addresses tend to be long, and it is easy to make a mistake if you type the address, so start by creating a web page and locate it on a remote server. Now you will want to link to it. While you have the page in your browser, confirming that you have typed the address properly, highlight the address in the address bar and copy it to the clipboard using Crtl-C.

Put yourself into an OLS message edit window. Click on the Smiley button and insert a Smiley.

Right-click on the smiley and select Image Properties

 

The resulting window has several tabs. For now, locate the Link tab and click on it.

Set the Target to be a new window, and paste in the URL from the clipboard using Ctrl-V.. Click OK and you now have a smiley that is a link.

You can also change the actual image and make it load an image from your remote server as well. For example, you can create your own graphic button or you can create a button hat says "Click Here" and make your link look like this:
