Using Jing with OLS and other web-based message systems
For an explanation as to WHY this works, you can read up on the idea of graphics in OLS messages at http://www.rodsweb.org/mshelp
For users of Photobucket, Jing is like Photobucket, but it cuts out many steps, and it eliminates the need to understand HTML code. As soon as you capture the image, it is automatically uploaded to the Jing server; you have to take no extra actions to make that happen.
When Jing I s loaded, you get a bubble at the top of your screen:

If you hover the mouise over the bubble, you see three smaller bubbles.

The bubble on the left is to activate the Jing Capture.

The middle bubble is for the history.

Clicking on History leads to a web page giving access to your history of captures stored on the ScreenCast server. This is like Photopucket, except that the file upload is automatically accomplished with no extra action from y ou.

Click on Capture to activate the capture process. The first thing is to mark a rectangle by clicking and dragging the mouse to mark the rectangle. When you let go of th e mouse button, you get a capture window.

You can capture a video within that rectangle, or you can capture a single image. For this, I clicked on the Image button to capture a single image. The next screen allows you to add comments, arrows, boxes, etc, to your captured image.

To work with OLS or web-based messaging, I find that the second button at the bottom works well [Send to ScreenCast (Embed)] Clicking on that automatically completes the capture AND uploads it to the ScreenCast server. Then it brings up a little window announcing this fact and allowing you to access the image by clickin on th e link.

The embed code is in the clipboard but you won’t need that at all; uising the embed code involves much more work than necessary. Click on the link to get Jing to display the result in a window

You can simply highlight the image from that window, use Ctrl-C to copy it to the clipboard, switch to the OLS or web-based message, and paste it into the message,
In this case I pasted it directly into an OLS message on the University of Phoenix server.

Special notes:
Jing often loads the image into a tab in the Explorer 7 window. If you arrange to have the Jing window as a new window, then you simply have to highlight the imafge and drag it into the message,
